My business cards are here finally! I really like them except there is a tiny mistake, which I will explain later.
Designing the perfect business card for your business is pretty hard – atleast it was for me: I had to use the right font, the right colours, the right texture and ofcourse it had to feel very ‘Noor’.
– I chose a sans serif font mainly because I find the fonts very warm and friendly
– Colour had to be blue, torquoise or green, i.e a nice calm colour
– Getting matte finish was one of the top priorities because I think it looks more creative & polished
– Rounded corners were a must! THE top priority
I designed atleast 10 different drafts and showed them to others to get feedback. After the design was finalized, I had to do a lot of research on where to get them printed from! I guess I could have gone to a local printer, but I didn’t think they were going to be any better (quality, quantity, and price wise) than what the American websites were offering me. One big challenge was finding a place that printed business cards with rounded corners – I know there are some companies around that offer this service, but I was looking for a company that would print on high quality thick stock paper as well.
I ended up ordering from GotPrint and I will most likely order from them again. I ordered 16pt matte finish business cards and uploaded my own design. The prices are very reasonable & I am very happy with the results. The only thing wrong with them is that my contact number is wrong – it’s missing a digit! But that’s my fault, I forgot to type it in (I checked the proofs) — contact number is 416-992-0626
The order was placed on April 5th, and I recieved the package on April 21st. The service was very good and as well as the communication. I uploaded a faulty design before and the GotPrint team was very effifcient in emailing me to point out the mistake. hi there… I am just wondering, as I just went through the whole kaboodle to order from this website… what did you pay for shipping? I was quoted a ridiculous amount and I am wondering if there is another option… I called them and they basically said ‘too bad, that’s what it is’ when I KNOW darn well it doesn’t cost that much to ship a small box of business cards to Canada… thoughts?

I paid $19.78 for shipping to Toronto. Are they quoting you around the same? I ordered 500 cards, so for the quality/quantity I thought the shipping was not too expensive. Also, try googling some coupons for GotPrint – you might get lucky with a 15% coupon or something 🙂
Hey thanks! I figured out why they were quoting me so much ;p ( even though the amount is still way higher than normal in my opinion)…
I live 15 minutes outside of Saskatoon and they were quoting me $60 shipping! To have it shipped to the city it is only $19.00… Crazy! I have things shipped here all the time, we are not that far and I usually get things the day after I would have gotten them if I had shipped to the city… and I definitely have never paid that much for shipping by UPS from the US EVER! so for $40.00 more, it doesn’t make sense! I just had it shipped to my office in the city 🙂
and you’re right…the quality for quantity can’t be beat! I paid $50 for 250 cards with a local company and they were terrible! Can’t use them… I haven’t actually received mine yet but I have seen several photos of gotprints cards and they look fantastic! ( including yours ;p)
